Where did all these tree armies come from - Tolkien's Ents
and Huorns, Shakespeare's Birnam Wood, or even Kurosawa's Blood Throne? The
Bible
In The Lord of the Rings: The two towers head for the
fortress of Saruman, Orthanc, in Isengard. They are an unstoppable force and
simply cool. Even the huorns, which are either Ents become trees or wild and
grumpy trees, come out of the Fangorn Forest. They consume the Uruk-hai
retreating from the Battle of Hornburg in Helm's Deep. Best ENT Hospital Kukatpally .
What was Tolkien's inspiration for the Ents?
In a letter to our Anglo-American poet to Auden, Tolkien
explains his inspiration for the Ents:
"I think their role in the story is due to my bitter
disappointment and my disgust at school, when Shakespeare's worn-out trees
might well go into single-war experience, the difference between"
masculine "and" feminine "attitudes. With respect to wild
things, the difference between non-possessive love and gardening. "
Tolkien's Ents and Huorns were inspired by Shakespeare's Birnam Wood March at MacBeth. Do you remember that part of the room?
In scene 3, MacBeth tells the doctor that he is not afraid
of an invasion because the three witches predict that 1) no man born of a woman
can kill him and 2) the forest must walk before to be defeated. Guess what?
Both arrive.
The first prophecy
Do you remember how Tolkien used the first prophecy of
witches: "No man born of a woman can kill him"? Sound familiar? The
elf Glorfindel prophesied about wizard king Angmar: "Do not follow him! He
will not come back to those lands. Eowyn -" I'm not a man! "- With the
help of Merry, the Witch King is finally killed, fulfilling the prophecy.
For Shakespeare, this prophecy was probably inspired by the Protoevangelium :
"I will put enmity between you and the woman and
between her offspring and her, and he will strike you with his head while you
hit his heel."
The "offspring" of the woman or the
"seed" of the woman, as translated differently, can only designate
one man in all human history. A man! Elsewhere in the Bible or other ancient
documents, you will always see only the "seed of man", not the woman.
There is only one man in history who has not had an earthly father: the virgin
birth, Jesus of Nazareth, born of Mary and the Holy Spirit. Best

Is not it incredible? All the gospel was contained in a
verse of Genesis. The whole history of salvation has been sketched from the
beginning. God did not invent it when he left. The earliest prophecy of the
Messiah is astonishingly clear: a virgin birth that will strike the skull of
the serpent. Where was the crucified Christ? In what way did the wood of the
cross of Christ come? What was the name of the place?
The second prophecy
Return to MacBeth: In Scene 4, Malcolm asks his army to
"cut off a branch of any soldier". The soldiers cover themselves in
the branches of Birnam Forest and advance to Dunsinane Castle to fulfill the
following prophecy:
"When I stood guard on the hill,
I looked at Birnam and thought
The wood started to move. "
But what was Shakespeare's inspiration?
The books of the prophet Samuel describe in part the wars,
rebellions and conquests of King David. When Absalom rebels against his father
David, David retires into Ephraim Wood. Absalom chases David into the forest
and his armies are completely devastated. But David had help:
"The battle spread to the whole region and the thicket
consumed more fighters than the sword that day."
Absalom himself was snatched from his mule by the branches
of an oak and fought it until Joab pushed him with three spears. Note also that
three wounds have marked the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Son of God, hanging on
the wood of the cross. Of course, unlike Absalom, Christ was perfect.
